  1. I love The Notebook because it is a classic love story about the princess and the pauper. I especially love the story because we see the couple later in life, still fully in love, when so many of our love stories only focus on the kiss and youth, not the protagonists' life together.

  2. The Princess Bride because it was one of my favorites growing up and it has something for everyone. i don't think I have ever someone who didn't love it.

  3. I just love Sweet Home Alabama. I think it is such a great love/comedy. Reese Witherspoon is so funny in this movie. Every time it is on tv I watch it but I also have it on dvd. It never gets old. Love it. One of my favorites Josh Lucas and Patrick Dempsey are so cute:)

  4. Lady and the Tramp is a simple, joyful movie – gets down to the very basic facts of new love. What better love story though has been told a million times over with different characters. Go beyond the difficulties of life and enjoy your time with your sweetheart to its fullest – an overflowing bowl of pasta and a few meatballs to split!

  5. Who can't help swooning when watching Pride & Prejudice (2005)?! Sigh….. This movie is just so romantic and I can't help smiling from ear to ear thinking about it. Such passion and chemistry – love it!

  6. Love Actually is a showcase for a lot a really talented actors giving great performances. All the emotions are there, heartbreak, happiness, anger, jealousy, and of course love. It is one of the few movies I find myself watching over and over.

  7. So hard to choose! So many great ones! Chose The Notebook because it makes me cry every time I watch it! My second choice is Gone with the Wind. A classic!

  8. I choose Pride and Prejudice the 2005 version because well first off I loved the book and that is the type of love you don't see anymore. Very respectful and the person just gave it all.

  9. I love the classic "Shop Around the Corner" but with Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks as the stars, how can you go wrong with "You've Got Mail." So many classic quotes and an all over happy film. F-O-X!

  10. Sense and Sensibility is my favorite. I loved the book and Emma Thompson's adaptation for the screen was superb. And what a fantastic cast – their portrayal of love in the late 1700s is relevant even today. Love it!

  11. I chose Moulin Rouge because it's one of my favourite musical movies EVER, and because it's NOT a happy ending where everyone gets together and lives, etc, etc. But it is poignant and heart-wrenching, and that line, "The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return" is just… kind of amazing, and memorable.(On a side note, my favourite scene of ALL is the El Tango de Roxanne, where The unconscious Argentinean, who has been played for laughs the entire movie, gets this amazing, breath-taking, important moment. And I LOVE tango, so it's just doubly awesome.)But I have to admit that it was EXTREMELY hard to choose. The Princess Bride was a very close second. ("As you wish"? Love it!)

  12. Dirty Dancing! I remember watching this when I was younger and just thinking WOW! I'm sure that is one reason I wish my husband would dance with me more! 🙂 Great selections to vote on! All are truly wonderful.

  13. "Sense and Sensibility"has all the elements of a great romance: the flirtations, hopefulness, wanting and yearning, expectations, heartbreak, sacrifice, surprise, new love, and endless passion. The two female leads (Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet) are so different in their approach to love and how much they grow to understand what their heart truly desires. My two favorite characters are the male lead (Alan Rickman) and Emma Thompson, because the audience is drawn in to their quiet suffering and sacrifice. Watch this movie a few times, and especially watch for the expressions and heartfelt emotion on Emma Thompson's face towards the end of the movie (the last 10 minutes). All I can say is, "Wow."

  14. I had to pick one that hadn't been mentioned; I chose Love Story from 1970 with Ryan O'Neil and Ali McGraw. I also love Neil Diamond so I loved his movie Jazz Singer.

  15. My fave romantic movie is "For Keeps" (1988) starring Molly Ringwald. A torrid story of teenage parents — it gets me every time. I also love the glimpses of a young Pauly Shore.

  16. I choose The Princess Bride as my first choice. Anyone who grew up with this movie, love or hate it, can still quote it. I remember falling in love with it when I saw it for the first time. Instantly it became one of my personal faves as a child and now as a grown up child. This movie takes me back to a time in my childhood where fantasy overpowered reality and this storybook love had action, love, loss, sadness, and finally loved filled reunion. If we could list a second choice, yes, it would be The Notebook. Who doesn't love the idea of love being the way home back to your loved one despite the odds? No matter what happens, whether you lose your looks or your mind, you are loved.

  17. I love Lady and the Tramp. They are such a cute couple that you forget that the dogs in the movie aren't like the ones at home. It is a favorite romantic movie.

  18. If you have never seen Dangerous Beauty, then you are missing a wonderful, true story about love and desire. Set in the 1500s in Venice,Italy, you can't imagine a more beautiful setting or the fact that the main characters fought for their true love amiss the threat of death by the plague and the Catholic Church. This movie is a classic and I recommend everyone see it.

  19. I picked The Holiday with Cameron Diaz, Jude Law, Kate Winslet, and Jack Black. All amazing actors/actresses. Eye catching, and they all turn out happy as ever for Christmas & New years! 5 THUMBS UP!!! BEST ROMANTIC MOVIE ALL AROUND!!

  20. Sleepless in Seattle is one of my favorites for sure. Not necessarily because it's my favorite romantic movie to watch with a partner, but it just brings back warm and fuzzy childhood memories and of my parents putting on the soundtrack in the living room when I was growing up. I still have a soft spot for it almost twenty years later!

  21. "Love Actually" does a wonderful job of combining multiple stories that explore many different sides of love. It's a good movie for any day of the year that you need to be reminded that love actually is all around us!

  22. I will forever love Princess Bride (and I hope they don't remake it!). It's the quintessential boy meets girl, boy likes girl, girl gets in trouble/danger, boy saves girl and gets girl in the end. Very romantic, chivalrous–it gives me hope that honor and nobility in love still exist somewhere, even if it's in the back of our minds as a fantasy. Sometimes you need that extra dose of fantasy to get away from the humdrum of daily life; a little bit of positivity and hope go a long way in times of need and hopelessness. Watch out for those ROUSes!

  23. So hard to pick, but I picked "The Proposal" over "Love Actually". Sandra and Ryan go so well together, and there was enough humor to balance out the intimate scenes for my boyfriend. Plus, I love Ryan and he loves Sandra, so this is definitely a repeat movie for us!

  24. I just adore the story of You've Got Mail! The love/hate relationship between Kathleen and Joe is riveting. And it has some great dialogue. I especially love the line, "Don't you love New York in the fall? It makes me want to buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of freshly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address."
